Independence and Community Living
We offer diverse living solutions tailored to the unique needs of individuals with special needs. Here, new friendships form and confidence is gained in the knowledge that extra support is right around the corner, if needed.
Among our six properties, two are Section 8, HUD assisted homes that have tenant income qualifications. It’s important to note that the CLC is not a licensed AFC, and it requires tenants to be able to live independently with support, but without 24-hour supervision.
The Community Living Center (CLC) at BrickWays marks the beginning of Independent Living for many residents. Since our beginnings, we’ve expanded to include housing for 43 adults across five unique settings. Additionally, assistance services are provided using contract services; clients may choose the help needed to ensure their personal success.
BrickWays is more than just housing. Residents are expected to participate in maintaining and furthering their personal growth and independence. Staff support is available to assist in overcoming short term obstacles as tenants learn life, home and social skills. It is not all work and no play! Residents at BrickWays enjoy art class, drum circles, cookouts, movie nights, and other coordinated events that are open to all tenants at no charge. Activities in the community include day outings to Great Wolf Lodge, Pontoon and picnic at Lake Missaukee and organized walks, bike rides and festival events. Extra services such as attendance and transportation for medical appointments and light-duty housekeeping are provided with a private service contract..
